Description

This collection of tutorials includes all of the key drawings for getting started as an absolute beginner.
The first tutorial in this collection is actually a full course, specifically designed for those who are new to coloured pencils and want to go through all of the basics. Covering all of the materials that you’ll need as well as the key techniques you’ll need to know. After covering the full process of a coloured pencil drawing, I then go through the step-by-step process of drawing a ladybird.
After completing the full course and understanding the basics, I also include a wide variety of tutorials for other subjects. From a interesting sushi, to some vibrant cherries and a surprisingly detailed rubber duck. All tutorials include detailed instructions, all of the real time footage, sketch outlines, the reference photo and details of all of the colours I used.
Every one of these tutorials include:
  • Really in-depth instructions
  • Plus all of the real time footage
  • Reference photos
  • Heavy sketch outlines (easier for tracing)
  • Light sketch outlines (Perfect if you want to print onto your drawing paper)
  • Details of all the materials used in each tutorial

Below are details of all the courses and tutorials included in this collection:

Beginner’s Guide to Colored Pencils: Ladybird with Only 12 Colors

This course is the most basic and simplistic course I offer. I cover the bare essential skills needed to draw with coloured pencil, and then use these skills to draw a simple ladybird. My goal is to keep the materials as minimal as possible so this is drawn with only pencils from a standard set of 12.

Cherries with Prismacolor

These cherries have been extremely popular, and it’s easy to see why! Learn how to build up a series of different shades of red and create a really smooth texture. This is once again created with only pencils from the set of 12, to keep it nice and simplistic.

Rose Bud with Polychromos

I’m still sticking here with drawings where I only use pencils from the set of 12 – these are not only so accessible as the materials are easy to access, but it’s also brilliant practice for building up all of the colours and mixing them together. Plus, the end result of this drawing creates a really lovely and smooth flower.

Beginners Guide: Realistic Drawings With Colored Pencils

Here’s a second full cohttps://gemmachambersart.com/courses/realistic-drawings-with-colored-pencils-an-introduction-for-beginners/urse covering how to draw with coloured pencils, and this one is slightly more complicated than the ladybird – although still beginner friendly! This is almost an overview of coloured pencils explaining the main techniques for using them as well as the full process I use for every drawing. Once we’ve covered these techniques, we can then apply them to an actual drawing by creating this vibrant sushi.

Rubber Duck with Prismacolor

Here’s the final tutorial in this collection. This rubber duck puts together all of the skills learned throughout the previous drawings and courses, and gives an opportunity to practice. Not only building up a lovely and smooth colour, but also adding in little light details as well as interesting texture.
