The tutorials in this collection are all designed for complete graphite pencil beginners.
I think it’s easiest to be introduced to the pencils with a full course covering all of the basics in detail. I’ve created a thorough guide starting by looking at all of the materials you’ll need. I then cover all of the key techniques for drawing with graphite and from there I can go through the full process I use for every drawing. We can then put this process into practice by drawing this very textured orange.
Once you’ve completed the course, the other tutorials will all be a lot easier! I’ve included a variety of subjects for the additional courses from a little succulent, to a delicate daisy and even some celebratory glasses of wine. All tutorials include detailed instructions, all of the real time footage, sketch outlines, the reference photo and details of all of the materials I used.

Realistic Drawings with Graphite Pencils

This is the perfect course to start off this collection – an introduction on how to use graphite pencils. In this course I cover the materials needed to draw with graphite pencils as well as the key techniques I use in every drawing. From there, we can apply those techniques and apply them to this orange.

Succulent with Graphite Pencil

This is a great follow up to the beginner’s course and demonstrates how these pencils can create absoluately beautiful drawings which are very highly detailed. This is a slightly more basic drawing, but still has some amazing wow factor. The leaves of the succulent have some really interesting texture and shading, and works very well with the contrast from the pot.

Wine Glasses in Graphite Pencil

The key to every graphite drawing is to select reference photos with amazing contrast and this is a great example. These may seem complicated at first because of the glass sections at the top, but actually we can just focus on drawing what we see and it’ll all come together.

Daisy In Graphite

This daisy is an excellent example of how adding details and contrast will create a stunning drawing. Both the contrast on both the shadows of the petals and center of the flower, plus the details particularly of the raindrops, really give this picture wow factor.

Eye with Graphite

The final drawing in this collection is of a highly detailed eye. There’s something so satisfying about drawing eyes, and always something really realistic about the finished result. It can seem really tricky to create that realism, but the key is to break it down into simple steps.
