Hello and welcome to my drawing tutorials!

QUICK HELPFUL NOTE: Click here to easily see only the tutorials that you have access to. Watch the video for more information.

Before you get stuck in, I recommend watching this video, which will help you get the most out my tutorials and generally help explain how to use the website.

When you’re deciding which course or tutorial you’d like to start with, don’t let the brand of pencils I use decide what you can draw. You can still follow the tutorial, even if you don’t have the exact same pencils that I’ve used. Just use my swatches attached in the post to help you find the substitutions.

First up, I’ve added below links to some in depth courses which are a great starting place to understand the fundamental techniques I use for coloured pencil, watercolour pencil and graphite pencils:

For every tutorial I make, I always start with the sketch already completed. I go through the method I use to create my sketch outlines in all of my full courses. Take a look at this ladybird course for a really simple, beginner friendly explaination.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to use my sketch outlines, I always include a light and heavy version on every tutorial. The light version is available so you can print the outlines directly onto your drawing paper, and the heavy outlines will make it easier to trace.

The choice is yours on how you’d like to approach the sketch!

Beginner Friendly Tutorials

I’ve made a few beginner-friendly, shorter tutorials which focus on only using pencils from a set of 12. This means you don’t need to buy a huge set of pencils to start drawing:

Rose Bud with Polychromos

Cherries with Prismacolor

Adding to the short tutorials above, I’ve got a number of ‘Quick Wins’. These are still faster tutorials, but use more pencils than from just the set of 12. Here are some of my favourites:

Succulent with Graphite

Sleepy Mouse with Polychromos
